With the dogs on the Ibiza streets barking that Darius Syrossian will be taking over the legendary Space Terrace on Sundays this summer, where does that leave the Luciano – Ibiza relationship. Having earned his reputation at DC10, loose it at Ushuaia, then regain it at Destino, Luciano returned to the island in much demand last year. A public spat between his management team, which includes his sister Amélia Nicolet, and Amnesia, spilled out onto social media before Luciano signed to Space on Sundays to replace the Darren Hughes produced We Love. It was a tall order to fill, especially as the We love party had a distinct British appeal, which was not Luciano’s main market. We Love Space, without its original founder, Darren Hughes, is expected to return with a strong UK influence this summer and Luciano is reported not to associated with the new production which will reflect the old We Love concept.

So where does that leave Luciano. All was quiet on the Swiss front until Luciano posted a hint on his Instagram account that the Cadenza Vagabundos were “Coming Back Home” to the island this summer. The definition of a Vagabundo, is a person without a home, so trying to make sense of that statement is a little misleading, as was the reference to Sunday on the Instagram photo. However, I would predict that he is returning to Ibiza this year but unless its DC10, which is unlikely, its difficult to see what Sunday options are available to him as his fees would limit the venues that could afford him. However, there is one club that would have both the admiration and money to afford Luciano and that club is the one with the classic cherries hanging outside its door, Pacha.

Luciano Instagram Hint.

Pacha has been courting Luciano ever since he departed the club in the infamous Danny Whittle bust up in 2012. He was back to his very best at Destino in 2014 but that venue has licensing issues to sort out and its Club may prove the best option for a Luciano return. Pacha is putting together one of its best programs in many years and the signing of Maceo Plex from Amnesia, was a serious move by the club which seems intent to prioritise the music this season. We have already reported the rumour that MK is leaving Insane for a new party at Amnesia and uncertainty now surrounds the other resident at Insane, John Digweed. That would create an opening for Luicano at Pacha on Fridays.

The only two parties that Pacha have not confirmed yet, are Insane and Solomun + 1 on Sundays, once the home of Luciano and his Cadenza Vagabundos. Pacha Barcelona have already run with Insane Presents Cadenza parties, so that may be a hint  that he will return to Pacha this summer as the headline act at Insane on Fridays, or could Solomun and Insane switch days? Pacha is a Spanish brand and Luciano is popular with that market so if he is to return to Pacha this summer, we should know more during the Miami festival later this month. In what already looks like a top notch music program at Pacha 2016, the addition of Luciano to its roster, will only improve it further.
