They say good people make for a good business. Its not often that you get the opportunity to bump into a great bunch of people in Ibiza, but this year was different. While taking a break from the Tine Tempah gig at Ibiza rocks last week, I popped into the Wok On noodle bar, right next to the entrance of the hotel. There, I was warmly greeted by proprietor Andy Cox whose front of house skills have no match in San Antonio. Nothing is a problem to Andy and he greets all his customers as friends, dispensing unbiased advice and opinions on the best places and parties to visit in Ibiza. He kindly offered my a house warming drink and a charge for my I-Phone. Andy is just one half of the Wok On partnership, as peeping out from behind the kitchen wall is his partner, both in business and love, the beautiful Katie Heneghan, one of the most attractive female chefs in San Antonio. The backpacking couple met at the nearby Hush bar five years ago and the love affair blossomed from there. Kate and Andy had previously worked for Andy McKay at Ibiza Rocks but then moved to set up their own business in association with Ibiza Rocks Hotel, serving great value food and drinks to the crowds, workers and clubbers of San An. The bar has certainly improved the whole Ibiza Rocks concept.

The food is spot on for Ibiza, light, tasty and packing punchy flavour. The noodles, pasta and rice are served in authentic paper box’s with chopsticks or forks. A variety of noodles and rice, with a choice of chicken, beef, chorizo, pork and prawns, are served with a pick of eight sauces and 17 vegetable accompaniments to choose from. Its a build it yourself, in 4 easy stages meal, that must be the best value meal deal in Ibiza for just €6!!! The bar even serves my favourite beer, Budweiser on draught (not a common sight in Ibiza) for just €2 a glass and has free Wi-Fi and a pool table for its patrons. The Wok On Noodle bar in San Antonio is also popular with workers in the area and you will always find out what’s going on and where all the best parties are to be found inside. Free entry and guest lists with personal service from the many reps that frequent the bar. The workers in San Antonio usually are a good sign as to where the best places are and many will whisper that Wok On is the one of the resorts best kept secrets.
