The Return Of Tiesto. Ibiza 2023 Opening Party At Ushuaia Review.

It’s been over a decade since the Dutch superstar DJ played on the white island. After playing numerous dates across Europe this summer and following a residency in Zouk, Las Vegas, earlier this year, it was now time to light up Ibiza on Tuesday nights. He was joining a megastar lineup for Summer 2023, including Calvin Harris, David Guetta, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike at the daytime party venue Ushuaia.
This weekly residency might hit the spot if you want to reminisce on the ’90s to early 00s Ibiza trance nights. Perhaps a return to his trance roots just for the island? His opening night set started with pop remixes by Black Eyed Peas, MGMT, Zedd and Sigala and his pop hits, including Red Light, which lit up the whole of Ushuaïa with, you got it, Red light.
Moving onto what felt like non-stop 90s classics, including Better Off Alone and Born Slippy, took Ushuaia back in time before further teasing the crowd with Sub Focus & Dimension Ready To Fly and Ayla, Ayla. All of this leading up to the track everyone was hoping to hear, but not sure if he would play it Adagio for Strings. It’s official; trance is back on the island Tuesday nights at Ushuaïa; who’d have thought it?
