As I post this blog entry the curtains have just come down on the traditional seasonal start to the Ibiza clubbing season. The Space Opening party as usual, was another resounding success, with the club filled to capacity as clubbers from all over Europe partied the last 20 hours away in style, under the Ibiza sky.

Highlight of the night was undoubtedly Carl Cox, who rocked the outdoor arena until midnight on Sunday. He later went on to continue his set inside the building at the Discotheca room. Cox was joined on stage by Space owner and founder Pepe Rosello who always ensured that Cox was an integral and valued part of the Club. His set on Sunday evening was testament to Rosello’s judgement, as the Barbados born DJ delivered a set of pure quality house music, that was fresh and mixed to perfection. Below are some of the highlights of his set.

Space is home to Ibiza House music, and to have a DJ of Cox’s style and experience playing such an anchor role is important to its image and style. Cox is resident in Space for 2011 with his own night starting on the 5th of July and running into September, each Tuesday night. The opening party will feature a special 10 hour set from Cox. Tickets priced at €40 can be bought at http://www.ibizahire.com/tickets/Ibiza-Cheap-Night-Club-Tickets.

The hard core clubbers from Space are now heading to DC10 and the Circo Loco opening party which will continue for the next 24hours into Tuesday afternoon. Here is a link to a free download of Cox’s Opening Party set from last night.
