The first big clubbing news to break in the New Year has been the unveiling of a new Ibiza party by ex Space resident and Ibiza legend Carl Cox. At a recent gig in London, Cox sported a Pure Carl Cox Ibiza 2017 T-Shirt prompting speculation that he is set to return to the island this summer. A number of his Revolution crew have been active on social media pushing the story so it looks fairly certain that Cox will be back to Ibiza even after stating that he would be taking it easy this summer and not committing to another residency on the island. While some people are speculating that Pure Carl Cox refers to a Pacha connection, rumours on the ground suggest that it will be Privilege that will play host to Pure Carl Cox.
The old resurgent club, which is in need of refurbishment, is primed to have its best season in years and if Cox decides to associate with Privilege, which is jointly owned by José María Etxaniz and the Matutes family, it would certainly put it right back in the game. It will be interesting to find out the format of Pure Carl Cox as rumours are suggesting that the party may not be a weekly event and that Cox will have a new management team in place for Ibiza 2017. The exciting Techno party Afterlife is also rumoured to be transferring with Cox to Privilege alongside its flagship event the islands #1 Gay party, SupermartXe. Official confirmation on the venue for Pure Carl Cox is expected to be announced in the next week.
