Eden San Antonio Ibiza

A Dutch Company, that manages a club in Amsterdam, is reportabley close to buying Eden Night Club in San Antonio Ibiza. The Club which has seen a number of collaborators over the years, most notably Judge Jules and Javier Anadon of Cafe Mambo, is on the market with a €12 million asking price.Negotiations to buy the premises, which was opened in the early 90’s, are said to be at an advanced stage. The new owners for Eden, are rumoured to be the people behind Amsterdam Club, Panama, which is located in the Eastern Harbour area of the Dutch port. The Club is similar in style to Pacha, attracting a more discerning and mature crowd, to its restaurant, lounge and club venue. The Dutch market has been gradually growing in Ibiza and the new owners would be a welcome addition to the San Antonio clubbing scene.

The current owners are Salvador and Paquita Salinero, who purchased the club in 1998 and refurbished it from a run down 18-30’s club, called Kaos, into what is today, Eden. Salinero, is also involved with sunset strip venue Kanya and smaller bars in the West End such as Playboy. Eden attracts a mainly English clientèle, over 90% according to Salinero, most attracted to its flagship party, Judgement Sundays with Judge Jules. I will always remember the club for its famous Tony Blackburn residency, one of the oddest DJ residencies, in the history of Ibiza. In recent years, it has struggled to attract any decent crowd outside of Judgement Sundays and the economic recession is not helping its cause. Under new management, the Club has the potential to be a profitable business as it has an excellent location in San Antonio, which attracts a younger crowd. The sale at present is still pending and if the new owners are confirmed, it is expected that it will be ready to re-open under new management in June. UPDATE 30/4/13  SALE COMPLETED
