A package tour company jet, was forced to make an emergency landing in Palma, after its starboard engine failed during takeoff from Ibiza Airport earlier this week.
The Jet 2 Boeing 737-800, with 180 passengers and six crew on board, was on its way to Manchester Airport when the engine started to backfire on takeoff. The Captain immediately shut down the engine and made an emergency landing in nearby Palma. The passengers and crew later boarded another Jet and later landed safely in Manchester.
