Hotel Tanit Rebranded TRS Ibiza
The old Tanita Hotel overlooking Cala Gracio in San Antonio is to be rebranded TRS Ibiza and will open in the spring of 2022 as a five-star establishment. It will be the first TRS Hotel to operate on the island and is managed by the Matutes Group, which built the original three-star building back in the ’70s. The site enjoys an excellent location on the north coast of San Antonio with amazing views of the sunset and Sa Collinera island. Its older sister hotel the adjoining Cala Gracio has been incorporated into the property retaining its original circular design and will host an Argentinan style restaurant called Gaucho. The refurbished hotel will feature Gravity, a stunning rooftop cocktail bar and terrace, complete with an infinity pool that will play host to DJ’s and live music.
The good news for clients of the old Tanit is that the TRS will retain its All-Inclusive concept with prices starting at 250 a night per person sharing in August. The hotel will be Adults Only which will be a big loss to the dwindling family market on the island which has seen over 80% of its rooms transfer to the adults-only market. The healing and wellness sector is also experiencing a boom as the island caters to the changing tourism model that centres on sustainable and cultural concepts.
Swapping kids for wellness and Yoga TRS Ibiza will launch Zenotopia Spa and Wellness where guests will “enjoy treatments and massages as well as a wide range of beauty services such as dry and moist sauna, steam rooms, lap pool, and more. Activities available to guests include pilates, yoga and meditation sessions. The hotel also offers three pools which can also be accessed via a day pass for those who are not staying overnight at the property”

The Hotel will have eight types of rooms available from the standard entry-level Delux Room right up to its premium offering The Ambassador Suite. Rooms on the ground floor will have swim-up and private pool options and terraces will all have jacuzzis. It will be sad saying goodbye to the old Tanit which will hold many fond memories for families that stayed there for decades. TRS Ibiza represents a new era for Ibiza tourism and we wish the property the best of luck for its future. Bookings and pricing for TRS Ibiza are now live on the Palladium Website
The old Destino Ibiza resort, located at Cap Martinet with privileged views of Formentera and Ibiza port, will be rebranded as Five Hotels Ibiza.
It was a Pirate ship that sunk, laden with treasure, coins and jewels in the port of Ibiza that lent the now-lost beach its name. Platja des Duros
The show’s production also didn’t disappoint, with the lights, lasers, fire and smoke cannons being some of the best we have seen at Ushuaia.
