Guy Departs Can Soleil Ibiza in Uber Ride

Cirque du Soleil creator Guy Laliberte is rumoured to have sold his famous Ibiza Villa to fellow party animal, Travis Kalanick, the wealthy ex CEO of Uber. Overlooking the powerful and mystical rock of Es Vedra, a landmark that featured on the sleeve of Mick Oldfield’s Voyager album and in the classic Hollywood musical South Pacific, Can Soleil, reflected the colourful character of its Canadian space tourist owner.
Famed for its exclusive private parties and the imposing Time and Space monument, Can Soleil, is one of the island’s best known villas and lists the Reuben Brothers as its nearby neighbours.

Since the arrival of Nikki Beach in Ibiza back in 2014, the Americans have been landing on the island’s shores to party and invest, thanks to the exposure it received from another well known party girl and DJ, Paris Hilton. American buyers have been quietly investing into high end property and businesses, the island’s famous Hippy meca, Pacha, was sold to US Investment company Trilantic in 2017 a company that rose from the ashes of the Lehman Brothers Bank. Pacha recently offloaded their Pacha Hotel to the Rubens in a sale and leaseback agreement but the club is facing an uncertain future as the Covid 19 pandemic continues to paint a bleak outlook for the nightlife industry Worldwide.
Guy Laliberte has been a regular on the Ibiza social and artistic scene since 1979 and also owns the troubled Heart Ibiza nightclub and restaurant alongside celebrity chefs Albert and Ferran Adriá. There are rumours that Heart could also be changing hands but to date we have not heard any names mentioned on the grapevine. A lot of real estate in that area is primed for redevelopment including Lio and the infamous Booom Ibiza sites, both front line property overlooking the marina and with splendid views of UNESCO World Heritage site Dalt Villa.
