Flavio Briatore with Guiseppe Cipriani@Bomba

After a gallant, and all hands to the pump effort to have Bomba opened for the end of June, it now looks like the club will miss a second scheduled launch date. Hopefully, it will be third time lucky for the new, much talked about club for Ibiza. With a limited capacity for under 1000 people, Bomba is rumoured to open on July 6th, the same date mentioned by Flavio Briatore on his twitter page. That date would give Defected Records a much needed boost after a torrid time waiting for the club to open. The Defected party was the victim of a major power cut during a sleepover at Sankeys on June 15th last, which emptied the club before power could be restored. Luciano and Cadenza could be in position for a Sunday, July 7th Opening party but understandably Bomba will be loath to announce another opening date until they are 100% certain they can achieve it. In recent weeks, the club has been busy hiring staff with insensitive pictures and video of people auditioning for jobs, posted on their social media pages.

Not much other information has been released to the public and with Erick Morillo lying low after an embarrassing incident in America earlier this month, his residency at the club is now in doubt. The full line up for Bomba has yet to be announced and we will have to wait and see who togs out for Bomba when the club finally gets into the game. With such a small capacity, the club should easily sell out every night and a great atmosphere is expected. A number of clubs in Ibiza are reporting a slow start to their seasons, so Bomba will not have too much ground to make up when it officially opens next month. With big name crowd pullers on its ticket, Bomba should attract a certain type of loyal crowd that will help boost its fortunes and establish itself on the Ibiza club circuit.
