Bomba Ibiza

Plans are starting to come together over at Bomba HQ, as the club has just released blueprints of its new layout. Artists already confirmed at the Club include, Luciano, Erick Morillo, Yousef and Defected Records. It is also rumoured, that one third of the Swedish House Mafia enterprise, Steve Angello, will associate with the Club, holding an exclusive Wednesday night party, after the Axwell/Ingrosso Departure event at nearby Ushuaia. If the rumour is true, it would mean a Monday night for Erick Morillo. Nor is it beyond the bounds of possibilities, that Bomba, could host an impromptu reunion of Swedish House Mafia at the club, due to its close links with Ushuaia and Amy Thompson, SHM’s manager. Its notable that Bomba are rumoured to roster Steve Angello on the same day that his old friends Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso play at Ushuaia. One would think that as friends, Bomba, would be an ideal venue for the pair to relax and wind down after their show at Ushuaia. It would  lend support to the seemingly solo direction of Steve Angelo’s career, who is also rumoured for a Ushuaia headline gig, but more on this story soon.

Steve Angello Set For Bomba Residency.

Like many of Giuseppe Cipriani’s establishments, the Club is expected to cater to a high-end market, but its manager, Danny Whittle, who has been quiet busy with the press recently, has tried to play down the exclusiveness of the venue by stating, “we want to make an atmosphere where the whole club is a dancefloor…the club is 25% VIP…. but anybody who knows me, knows I think everyone who comes to any of my events are a VIP”. Bomba, will have a capacity of just under 1000 people and has installed a sexy, state of the art, Pioneer sound system, that should lend itself to a great atmosphere. Only time will tell if the Bomba product goes down well with the Ibiza clubbing crowd but at present, the Club seems to be relying on a tried and tested format, that might just be going out of fashion, in an increasingly competitive and developing market. How the old Pacha artists will be received, without the support of Ibiza’s iconic cherries branding, will be a key factor as to the musical success of the venue. Apart from Luciano, some of the other names on the billing are nearing their sell by date.

The Beautiful Naomi Campbell set for Ibiza Party.

Danny Whittle, will be joined at Bomba, by his old work colleague at Pacha, Mark Netto, who will assist with the music programming at the Club. It is expected that Bomba will aim to attract the wealthy Ushuaia after party crowd and with such well connected people associated, it will have a great opportunity to succeed. There is no word yet on ticket prices but with such a small capacity, the club will have to generate income somewhere, if its to be managed as a business model. It could also be run as a private playroom for exclusive parties, as Naomi Campbell, is rumoured to be holding her 43rd Birthday party celebrations at Bomba this summer. Ms Campbell’s birthday is May 22nd, the same day as Bomba’s Opening Party. We will have to wait and see what transpires during its first season on the Island. The Bomba logo has had a makeover and looks a lot better than the original versions, as does the name which was shortened from La Bomba. The Blog would like to wish Bomba and the team associated with it, all the very best of luck with its launch and first season on the Island. We will review the Club when it opens and report back with our thoughts.
