Our Best Ibiza DJ Award reflects the people that have helped make us dance on the island this summer. The ones that have made a difference and kept it real – not the fakes or those with the pre-recorded sets. Not the ones that throw cakes or shapes behind the decks, produce silly music or bring horses on the dancefloor. Not the over produced, “industry” types, commercialised and hyped to appeal to mass markets – check out DJ Mag for those gongs. Our awards are for the DJ’s who care about the music and the people on the dancefloor, the ones that enlighten our senses and bring pleasure to our lives. The ones who keep Ibiza relevant and make the small Mediterranean island the world leader for electronic dance music. The nominations below are for the DJ’s that shined brightly and led the way in Ibiza this summer.

Carl Cox
One of the most respected DJ’s on the planet and an institution on the island for well over two decades. His 15 year residency at Space puts him on a pedestal that very few DJ’s will ever emulate. A proper professional and good guy to boot, Coxy’s popularity this season was infectious and he will be a huge loss to the island next when he hangs up his residency boots.

Jamie Jones.
A previous winner of this award, Jones had a cracking season this year making sure that people, least they were distracted, were reminded who the Top Dog at DC10 is. His Paradise party was packed every Wednesday and all reports were positive and stating that Jamie was on top of his game all season.

Sven Vath
One of the few Ibiza DJ’s that can match Carl Cox in residency years. With the departure of Cox, the influential Papa Sven and Cocoon, will remain the longest running weekly party with the same DJ headlining. Blew multiple layers of cheese of the Pacha speakers when he made his first ever appearance at the classic Ibiza club alongside Solomun and his Cocoon party was as good as ever his year.

Marco Carola
Another big year for the Italian in Ibiza and his popularity knows no bounds it seems. Star player and cash cow for Amnesia and it would be very hard to replace him – only the unwise would let him go willingly. Performed with class and style again this summer and expect Marco to be the big news story next season.
