Want to relax and unwind, without the disturbance and noise of over excited kids with stressed out parents on holiday? Then an adult only, or couples hotel, may be worth considering, for the peace and quiet they offer without the presence of families and children.
One would think that Ibiza would have a good selection of adult only Hotels, but in fact, they are not easy to find as there is only a small number of them present on the Island. There are many quiet, relaxing agritourism hotels that offer a chilled out experience away from all the clubs and neon lights, but the majority of them will accept children, so a person is not guaranteed a child free zone.
Below are the Hotels in Ibiza that I know are adults only, and will not accept bookings for children.
In my opinion, one of the better adults only hotels, as its got a Michelin mentioned restaurant on location. Its a well run, professional Hotel, owned by the Catalonia group. Its based in the working town of Santa Eularia, a peaceful well to do, medium sized town, popular with a more mature type of clientele. No clubs or late bars with the exception of one or two. A long promenade offers walks along the marina and the town itself is full of local restaurants and cafes especially on Restaurante street.
Located in the family resort of Cala Llonga, with access to an excellent beach, this hotel offer’s a romantic couples only experience. Owned and managed by the Fiesta Hotel Group, a professional level of service can always be expected. With Its own Bell Boy to carry your bags to delux double bed rooms and with a relaxing decked pool area complete with day beds, this Hotel offers its customers a chilled experience with a touch of style. On the downside, the Hotel is isolated with poor transport links. The resort is purpose built, catering to the package tourist market with restaurants to reflect this. Ideal if you want to just stay in the hotel for the week.
A mid range, budget friendly hotel located in the family resort of Es Cana. Popular with an older clientele it offers an average 3* experience without the frills, as its competitive price reflects. A number of the package tour operators offer this property to a mainly British market. The resort of Es Cana, like Cala Longa, is full of English themed bars and restaurants, so the quality and variety would be limited.
This Hotel is located directly on a busy public promenade, in the young and vibrant resort of San Antonio. Its got great views out over the bay, especially of sunset. The area would not be quiet, as there are two “Superclubs” located nearby, along with a plethora of music bars, catering to a younger clientele.Ideal for couples wanting to be in the thick of the action and the hotel attracts a mixed range of age groups and nationalities. There is a man made beach directly outside the hotel, but its very average and crowded compared to the quality of other beaches in the area.
A good quality, reasonably priced all inclusive hotel, located on the outskirts of San Antonio next to a good beach called Cala Gracio. Popular with German holidaymakers, its a small two story hotel, with 50 comfortably decorated rooms, which were recently refurbished. The Hotel Gracio is located directly next to the Tanit Hotel, which is a busy family hotel with lots of kids running about. Therefore, there will be noise of kids playing and splashing into swimming pools, especially if lounging at the adults only pool area. A 20 min walk along the famous Sunset strip of San Antonio, home to Cafe Del Mar and Cafe Mambo, will bring you into the center of the town, which is full of restaurants and bars. The All Inclusive option is reasonably priced, of good quality and drinks are served in glasses rather the plastic cups synonyms with cheaper A/I Hotels.
Situated in the quieter bay area of San Antonio, the Galfi offers the best budget Adult Only option, with prices starting at €14 per person B&B in May. In August prices rise to €40 B&B per person with Air Con included. Its a very basic hotel, popular with young clubbers and like minded people….. in Ibiza to have a good time and party rather than lounge around their Hotel. Its in a quiet location in the bay area of San Antonio about 20mins walk into town or 10mins by bus. For the price they ask, its not the worst, but dont go there expecting anything more than a clean bed, shower and room. The surrounding area is a little overgrown and the hotel will not win awards for its beauty.
The Club Punta Arabi is an 18-30 themed, singles and couples resort located near Es Cana on the eastern coast. Popular with an international mix of young people but predominately German. Its quiet and relaxing location, away from all the built up areas, can be a positive and negative at the same time. On the downside its a little isolated from the clubs and bars but there are transport options nearby. On the upside, its a good value all inclusive resort, with great sea views and a fun vibe around the pool.
One of the hotels that was featured in the infamous Sky Ibiza Uncovered documentaries, the S’Anfora is ideally situated near all the action of the West End area of San Antonio central. A short stroll to the super clubs of Es Paradis and Eden as well as a number of lively bars such as Linekars, Ibiza Rocks, Bay Bar and Iticka. This hotel would ideally suit party people who require all they need within walking distance of their hotel. There is always a young and lively party vibe around the pool area, and the hotel is basic but good. Just dont expect chocolate on your pillows or a turndown service at night time.
