If you are looking for something authentic and real in Ibiza, that has a more personal and uncommercial vibe about it, then check out the San Carlos Music Festival, which kicks off today in the beautiful and traditional Ibicenco village of San Carlos. The “Ai Carai” music festival, will feature over 100 artists, theatre performances, entertainment for the children, markets and a host of other surprises, which will organically grow from the “Freedom Of Expression” ethos of the festival. The pristine and whitewashed village of San Carlos, is home to the famous Anita’s Bar and a well know church. It is close by to the Las Dalias market, which runs every Saturday morning and Monday evenings in the tourist season. The whole area around San Carlos is home to many interesting people and places that hold the real spirit of Ibiza close to their hearts. You could nearly say that its an modern artisan group that are part of a vibrant community. Very much into ecological and organic thinking but with a touch of boho style, rather than the laid back feel of the traditional hippy look. It is no coincidence that the festival is being held on the summer sostice, the longest day of the year, so expect the unexpected. We wish the organisers the best of luck with this years festivities. The festival will start at 12 noon and finish at midnight. More details here Also check out the full line up of artists here
