Flower Power expected to remain @Pacha

Following on from Part I and Part II of our series on what we think will be trending for Ibiza 2013, is our final instalment Part III. Once again, we preview some of the places, parties and people, that we expect to light up the Ibiza landscape for summer 2013.

Playa Den Bossa

The popular resort, owned in the most part by the powerful Matutes group, is expected to trend highly in 2013. With a controversial new €300 development proposed, the resort is building towards a brighter future for some. Its aspirations to become the “Pearl of the Mediterranean”, a resort that will cater to the whims of the rich elite of Europe, is an ambitious one that is risking a lot. Will it be a bridge too far and the rock that hopes and dreams flounder on, or, will it become a sparkling jewel in the crown of Ibiza…..only time will tell. In a stormy financial environment, its a brave risk to set sail with such an ambitious project. Musically, the resort should continue to be a clubbers Mecca, with Ushuaia, Space, Sankeys and DC10, all expected to perform strongly in 2013. Add to that, new venues like Moma and Santos Hotel and one can see that from a clubbing perspective, Playa Den Bossa, is the place to be for Ibiza 2013.

Cafe Mambo

As Cafe Del Mar languishes in a lengthy depression, its Cafe Mambo, that is now becoming Ibiza’s premier Sunset Bar, with fresh new ideas and improvements each season. Its fun, cool, always trendy and the place to be seen for sunset seeking, pre party clubbers and holidaymakers alike. A great mix of nationalities and age groups, its genial hosts, the Anadon Family, are always on hand to ensure a warm Ibiza welcome and a buzzing environment, filled with A List DJ’s and fashionable styles. Quality drinks and food are served by professional staff and for people wanting to watch a famous Ibiza sunset, with an excellent soundtrack in a  party holiday atmosphere, then Cafe Mambo, continues to be the trend setting venue for Ibiza 2013, just as it has been for many years now.

Enzo Siragusa

Enzo Siragusa

Recently signed up by Loco Dices agency, Artiste Alife, Londoner Enzo Siragusa, is a name to watch in Ibiza for 2013. His Fuse party at Sankeys last year, may have been eclipsed by the success of Diynamic and Viva Warriors, but it was still a firm favourite, with many of the Islands more discerning clubbers. It had a great atmosphere and unique underground sound about it and many respected industry sources are tipping Fuse, to come of age this season in Ibiza. Enzo has been busy establishing his new, Fuse London label, that is expected to launch his career to new levels. His collaboration with Richie Hawtins acclaimed Enter party at Space and the respected Circo Loco party at DC10, has enhanced his name in Ibiza and 2013 could be the year that Enzo makes the big breakthrough on the Island. Although no official confirmation has been made, it is expected that Enzo will remain with his Fuse crew at Sankeys.

Migjorn Suites and Spa

Located bang in the middle of Playa Den Bossa, Migjorn is a little oasis of real Ibiza hospitality and style amid the concrete surroundings of the brash resort.  With one of the best pool side menus for food (its Chicken Club Sandwich is a classic) and fresh Caribbean style cocktails, Migjorn offers a nice mix of agrotoursim hospitality and service, with a touch of understated clubbing style. Its not a full on party complex but it does cater to a chilled and relaxed daytime vibe around its two pools, one which is family orientated and the other, which has DJ’s and live acts playing. An onsite spa, steam rooms, beauty treatments, kids play area, and supermarket, its apartment style accommodation in traditional style Ibicenco buildings, is ideal for couples, young families and groups.

Pacha

David Guetta expected to remain @Pacha

After the culling of the old brigade, this season marks a new departure for the much admired and loved club. A new, local, management team will captain the club into a 2013 season full of change and fresh beginnings. Akin to a surgical amputation, Pacha has chopped off a large portion of an established format, that has worked quiet well for it, over the last number of years. Whether its too much of a shock to the system, is a question that can only be answered at the end of this season, but its a risky road that Pacha now travels. Only David Guetta and Flower Power are rumoured to remain at the Club, with the names of John Digweed and Guy Gerber, also connected for the 2013 Ibiza season. Its truly a watershed year in the history of the club and many worldwide eyes will be watching with interest, to see where the new direction at Pacha ends up.The blog will be keeping a close eye on this one as it happens.
