The charming sunset resort of San Antonio, now a balance to the manufactured output of Playa Den Bossa, is set for a decade of investment, new ideas and creativity. As PDB prices itself out of the market for the average punter, San Antonio with its refurbished hostels and hotels, offers a fresh new product that wont charge you €14 for a small bottle of beer. At its core is a love of music, the real party people work and live there and its youthful vibrancy plays host to a diverse range of parties and venues. In recent years the resort has championed the daytime party vibe and that trend looks set to continue this summer. We have compiled five parties that we expect to rock San Antonio this summer and don’t cost a fortune just to enter.
Hed Kandi @ Ocean Beach Club
In a short period of time Ocean Beach Club has established itself firmly on the San An scene. Its VIP daybeds, champagne spray guns, loaded credit cards, bikini clad ladies and Z list celebrities, makes it a magnet for its target UK audience who arrive to party there from 3pm in the afternoon. It also has a talented chef, that ensures the quality from the kitchen matches that of its champagne. Entry starts at €10.
Melon Bomb at Pikes
An indigenous house/disco success story that made its name at Pikes and is now spreading the love to other venues like Hi, Pacha, Ministry of Sound and Glastonbury. You can still catch the trendy quartet at Pikes which is free entry if you apply in advance for guestlist.
Allergen at Hush
A cool Czech techno party into its fourth season on the island and located in the centre of the neon lit jungle that is The West End. Its free entry and the party really gets going from 3am to 5am when its two residents, DJ Nuff and Lekno, take to the decks every Friday night.
Craig David at Ibiza Rocks
A surprise hit last summer Craig David returns to San Antonio with his exclusive TS5 poolside party every Thursday from July 20 and it’s expected to be a big one. Following the lead of Ocean Beach, Ibiza Rocks has a number of new VIP sofa beds and tables available with ticket prices starting at €35.
Bob Sinclar at Cafe Mambo
Cafe Mambo is now an institution in Ibiza and its the premier sunset party venue on the island. It captures the magic of the Ibiza sunset combined with a soundtrack designed to get you in the mood for the night ahead. Saturday nights are our favourite as it features the French flair of Bob Sinclar and his extrovert family of Queens, trannies, fire eaters and dancers. Entry is free with tables available for inclusive food and drinks from €70.
A few newcomers on the San An scene to watch this season, are CuckooLand Sundays at Ibiza Rocks and Defected at Eden.
