The Paris Paralympics Closing Ceremony, which will take place in Stade de France on Sunday, September 8, will be a proud moment for French artists. The distinctively Ibiza-inspired electronic finale will feature a programme of iconic French DJs performing back-to-back sets on a stage produced by Hi and Ushuaia creative director Romain Pissenem. This unique DJ-led event, broadcast to eight Billion people worldwide, will be a celebration of the significant contribution of French artists to electronic music culture.

Jean-Michel Jarre, a pioneer in the electronic, ambient and new-age genres, will headline the event utilising the digital theatre skills of Romain Pissenems High Scream production company, which programs the parties at Hi and Ushuaia in Ibiza. High Scream also produces shows for David Guetta, DJ Snake, Martin Garrix, Cassius, Disney, MTV, UEFA and Sensorium. Étienne de Crécy, Martin Solveig, Cassius, Kavinsky, and Chloe Caillet will be among the twenty-four artists bringing down the curtain on a hugely successful 2024 Paralympics.

The DJ Party will begin with Jean-Michel Jarre, a musician currently holding the record for uniting the most people ever at a single concert. In 1997, he performed in front of 3.5 million people in Moscow, a feat certified by the Guinness Book of Records. On Sunday, he will play to 80,000 spectators at the Stade de France, and hundreds of millions will watch the ceremony on television.

As the clock strikes 20.30 tomorrow night, a grand parade will commence at the Stade de France, featuring 4,400 inspiring Paralympic athletes who have enthralled audiences over eleven remarkable days. This poignant occasion, uniting 168 delegations, will culminate in a symbolic handover from Paris to Los Angeles. This handover signifies the continuity and global reach of the Paralympic Games, as it signifies the transfer of hosting responsibilities for the 2028 Paralympic Games.

Career Highlight

Romain Pissenem, who cut his teeth on the Ibiza dancefloor, will be handed the honour of producing the event. It will be the highlight of the quiet and unassuming Frenchman’s career to date and will help champion Ibiza as the world record holder in sound and lighting production. Pissenem is set to unveil his latest digital masterpiece in Ibiza next season when the highly anticipated hyper club [UNVRS] opens on the old Privilege club site. On behalf of the blog, we wish Romain and the team at High Scream the best of luck with the event.
