One Life Ushuaia Ibiza 2024 Review. The Guitarist, My Father, The Legend.
In today’s business-driven clubbing scene in Ibiza, it’s rare to find a mainstream party that harks back to the spontaneous, free spirit of club culture of the 1990s. One of the island’s most popular and respected underground DJs in recent years, Michael Bibi, who established his credentials at nearby DC10 with Solid Grooves, returned triumphantly to beachside venue Ushuaia Ibiza with his new One Life concept.
The party captured the essence and spirit of old Ibiza with spontaneous live performances, surrounded by a feeling of unity and love. Its energy floated from the crowd, and it was heartwarming to witness the true spirit of Ibiza escape its monotonous cocoon and experience its beauty. If nothing ever changed, there would be no such things as butterflies.
We sent our reporters, Tom and Rachel Rudkin, to review the party.
In an emotional return to Ushuaia, now cancer-free, this was Michael Bibi’s night.
Fans got the Ushuaïa experience they were hoping for. However, tonight was different, and as one fan described it, “Everyone is here for Bibi.”
Almost a year ago, Bibi left the hospital to deliver that memorable set closing Solid Grooves at DC10.
But this night, a one-off performance at Ushuaia of his One Life show celebrated life centred around the importance of family and friends.
This was demonstrated by Michael, surrounded by his loved ones, with his mum dancing the night away by his side. Michael’s father, Robin Bibi, who turns 70 this year, later joined him on the stage with his guitar. In an emotional introduction to the crowd, Michael described him as ‘The Guitarist, My Father, The Legend’ and said he wouldn’t be here without him.
It left us feeling like we were part of a community on the dancefloor brought together through our love of music and support for Michael. Interactions with his fans throughout the night were used to spread positivity and hope. No other event in Ibiza this year has captured that. By the night’s end, those watching on felt compelled to donate to the blood charity Michael was sharing via a QR code on his shirt.
It was no surprise that Ushuaia was busy as Michael always draws in the crowds, but when Chris Stussy handed him the decks, with a new track made especially to mark the occasion called ‘One Life’, it made the evening even more special.
Salome Le Chat had kicked things off, followed by Josh Baker as planned, but the unexpected took the night to another level.
In addition to Michael’s father rocking the stage and Stussy delivering a new track, fans were treated to a live brass band for an uplifting performance of ‘Lemonade,’ and the energy across Ushuaia shot up.

Bibi performed for over three hours with an extended set to thank the fans who had supported him during his recovery. The set included hits like Different Side and Got The Fire, as well as remixes of well-known songs such as Murder on the Dance Floor, I Will Survive, and Robert Miles’ Children.
At the night’s end, Bibi didn’t want to leave, nor did anyone else. The lights stayed off, he stayed on, and the crowd were given a few extra moments to enjoy. If he could, he would indeed have carried on until the break of dawn.
Just like he had done at Creamfields this summer or during his viral Finsbury Park gig, where he organised to have the England football match shown on the screen during his set, he brought the crowd together like no other artist could – and did it at Ushuaia, a venue infamous for its ability to take you to another place.
Flying paper butterflies, CO2 cannons, fireworks, and lasers lit up his set as the lights and dramatics of Ushuaia came together to celebrate life.
It was a night like no other. It was a one-of-a-kind experience, filled with heartwarming moments and a reminder that you only have one life—live it!
