With the departure of Richie Hawtin and Enter from Space, the Thursday night slot has been attracting plenty of online attention and speculation as to what will replace it this summer. The Space project is in its final year at Playa den Bossa and will move to San Antonio next season where it is rumoured for a new dawn at the Reco des Sol in San Antonio. The blog understands that Space will retain a distinct techno flavor for its new Thursday party and rumours are suggesting that Italian artists like Tale Of Us and DJ Tennis could be associated to the event.
Artists associated to the Sonar Festival in Barcelona along with those connected to the 99 Ghosts party provides a clue to the concept behind the new event which may reflect the Life and Death theme at DC10, which now seems to have an uncertain future at the airport venue. The Hyte party at Amnesia, is also connected to the 99 Ghosts brand and we may very well see Hyte artists appearing at the exciting new Space party. The move would allow Hyte to maybe keep a finger in a few Ibiza pies.
Ushuaia has announced that Hawtin will headline their opening party on May 28, with La Famila a noticeable absentee from the Ushuaia line up this year. There are no rumors to suggest that Hawtin will have a residency at Ushuaia this season and his appearances in Ibiza this year are expected to be limited to one offs. The name of the new party at Space is not know yet but it’s expected to carry a distinctive dark theme. Stay tuned to the blog for further updates on this story.
