It has just been announced, that one of the islands most respected underground DJ’s, Jamie Jones, will play at Hi Ibiza this season. The Uber trendy Welsh DJ who started his Ibiza career working for Cafe Mambo, has been hosting the islands coolest party, Paradise, every Wednesday at DC10 for the past six years. The Hot Creations founder will play as a guest for Black Coffee, the rising star on the Ibiza clubscene. The Saturday night party was one of the big success stories of last season and the South African DJ has pulled together a star studded line up for this summer, with Jamie Jones, Loco Dice, Bedouin, Guy Gerber and Luciano just some of the popular Ibiza names associated to the party which opens on May 26.

Only last week another Ibiza legend, Carl Cox, softened his language around Hi Ibiza, opening the door for a possible appearance at the venue. After the controversy surrounding the fall of Space, Cox indicated that he would find it very difficult to ever play at the club, due to his loyalty and friendship to former Space owner Pepe Rosello, who came out the wrong end of the infamous leasing deal that resigned Space to the history books. Much of the islands clubbing elite, understandably supported Rosello and what he stood for, and were very cold towards Hi, regarding it as a commercial, VIP loving entity, a big change from the original free love ethos of Space. However, that is not the full story of Hi.

But business is business in Ibiza, life goes on and the cold facts are that the new club, in only its second season, is attracting all the big names and parties to its impressive, digitally orientated venue. It is setting the trends for others to follow and in its stable this summer, its got a huge talent in Black Coffee, whose music has been a refreshing Berg breeze blowing over the island. For Jamie Jones to associate with Hi, is a big result for the venue and one that lends it much credibility and only highlights the credentials of Black Coffee, who could take over from Solomun, as the new Fresh Prince of Ibiza.
