DIY Three day Detoxification during your Ibiza holiday Part 3
This week; how to incorporate your very own three-‐day wellness retreat into your Ibiza trip as if money were no object (within reason!).
Principles of a cleanse or detox
What is it? Cleansing or detoxifying enables the body to perform it’s own inner clean out by reducing the amount of work it has to do. Giving it a rest so to speak.
Recommended mental and physical preparation is optional, but I know you can master the art of a mini cleanse with that brilliant mind of yours for that wonderful body of yours! If you want to go deep check out clean programme but otherwise avoiding toxins is marvellous for your health (although quitting caffeine can cause headaches).
Guidelines
No stimulants (recreational drugs, caffeine, sugar, alcohol, dairy produce or meat) for 72hrs
No news, social media or at least reduced to once per day for as short as possible.
No complaining, if you do be aware and stop. Smile and hug instead.
Do drink Lemon water upon rising to flush your system out.
Do drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Do eat nuts, fruit and veg as snacks.
Do check out how to do the 5 Tibetans online. I find it the easiest, fastest all round body toning and balancing routine ever. Oh and it promotes youthfulness!
Do bring pen and paper so you can get writing, composing, drawing or scrawling.
Do bring inspiring literature to get tucked into or pop into Libro Azul in Santa Gertrudis and stock up.
Enjoy, Virginia Feelgood
For my ultimate post in this series I would like to vary from the prescribed three day cleanse suggestion, because, hey if you are loaded you’ll just get a private concierge service to hire everyone and everything you need.
So for this post I am going to describe my ideal long weekend without limit. (budgetary not party till you drop!)
Virginia’s Feelgood Long Weekender Raw
1/ Rent Las Cicadas or Over at Dieters Place (as musicalised by the Prince of Balearic Chillout) for six days in November or March (not too hot, hardly any tourists). Both of these of so very cute single story fincas are located in the heart of the island, which has a lazy relaxed feel and Santa Gertrudis has a very international cosmopolitan vibe with more veggi/vegan/raw options per square meter than anywhere else on the island.
2/ Invite 6 to seven of your favourite people in the whole wide world (not necessarily family) to join you. All expenses paid or split the bill depending on the depth of your wallet.
3/ Hire a private chef to teach you how to prepare scrumptious healthy food, then scoff all the stuff they have shown you how to make! Not wishing to make you jealous but my wonderful man treated me and my mates. Mario, the Green Chef, raw food heaven. It was a great afternoon and I still make the dishes I learned here!
Note: eating raw food for three whole days qualifies as a super way to cleanse!
4/ Hire TWO massage therapists or one massage and one pilates/yoga whatever might tickle your fancy. This way you can learn, eat clean and look lean as you cleanse.
5/ Get a driver to ferry you around if you intend to go sightseeing or out of an eve, although Las Cicadas is within walking distance of Santa Gertrudis.
6/ Relax and enjoy the magic of the island within the loving circle of close friends.
Wishing you radiant health, Virginia Feelgood
