Glitterbox Ibiza 2024 Review.

The atmosphere at Ushuaia on Sundays is exceptionally vibrant and glamorous, especially as attendees make their way over the road to Hi and Glitterbox at the end of the evening.

The doors open at 23:30, allowing enough time for a quick drink and a slice of pizza at Bossa Strip before entering Hi Ibiza. It may not be for everyone to arrive before midnight, as the first hour was relatively quiet. However, this provides an excellent opportunity to explore the club and admire each room’s giant disco balls and Glitterbox-themed decor, which includes vibrant neon lights, retro disco posters, and glittering disco balls that create a visually stunning atmosphere.

The renowned Wild Corner (a club room in the toilets) is a fantastic place to begin the evening. Access to this room can be challenging later at night, so it’s well worth visiting. The music throughout the club showcases the biggest names in funky disco house. Expect to hear old-school classics and familiar tunes. In the Theatre room, we enjoyed sets from Horse Meat Disco and Roger Sanchez, staying until the end to listen to “Another Chance,” which was a highlight of the night! Other frequent Glitterbox performers include Dimitri from Paris, Groove Armada, and Purple Disco Machine.

The Club Room offers a deeper, more intense vibe; we found ourselves dancing to Carl Craig’s set much longer than we had anticipated. Glitterbox is also known for its surprise live performances, including live singers and incredible dancers who manage to dance in their towering platform heels – a true spectacle! We were treated to a surprise performance by 80s star Adeva, famous for her hit “Respect.”

Everyone we encountered was having a fantastic time, and the overall atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. We were delighted to see people of all ages, from daughters dancing with their mothers to groups of friends possibly experiencing the White Isle for the first time. This diverse and inclusive crowd made us feel like part of a larger community. Everyone was friendly and sociable. It is one of the most sequin-filled and glittery nights you can experience on the island.

Heat of the dancefloor

Additionally, we were given Glitterbox fans on the dance floor during Horse Meat Disco’s set, which came in handy as the temperature on the dancefloor increased. Since returning home, we’ve discovered Glitterbox Radio on SoundCloud, a platform where you can listen to sets from past Glitterbox events, and we look forward to revisiting Glitterbox the next time we’re on the island.
