With much of the Ibiza summer 2017 season signed off on by the islands clubs and promoters, rumours are starting to gather pace and certainty as the Easter break looms. Privilege is rumoured to have a fistful of surprises in store, as its new manager, ex-Space boss Juan Arenas, will be working closely with Pepe Rosello. Hï Ibiza has put together an exciting schedual, and if there are no objections or licencing issues at the new club, then it could be set for a successful first season. One or two changes are expected at DC10, while Pacha and Amnesia will retain much of its program from last year. It will be interesting to see how Defected gets on at Eden in San Antonio, (one big underground name is already signed) but the venue making waves in the popular sunset resort, is Ibiza Rocks.

The remarkable comeback and success of Craig David’s TS5 pool party underlines the popularity of daytime partying in San Antonio. Ocean Beach Club goes from strength to strength with its weekly schedual of pool parties and €5000 minimum spend tables where, in true Ibiza style, guys get to spray champagne from water guns onto the eager bodies of scantily clad ladies beneath them. Its owner Wayne Lineker scored an impressive marketing goal last summer by promoting a male employee for the number of girls he shagged in the toilets while at work. The social media post earned tens of thousands of re tweets and engagements. The savvy Andy McKay, after announcing that Elrow would be by his Ibiza Rocks pool on Sundays, stated that San Antonio is now “The pool Party capital of Ibiza”

One of the trendy underground parties in Ibiza right now is Do Not Sleep and word on the ground suggests that DNS are also rumoured to be linking up with Ibiza Rocks on Sundays, alongside its new club residency on the island. A big Miami styled pool party, complete with high production values similar to Manumission, would be the most logical concept for the two popular English brands if they were to merge. With the Barcelona based Elrow party confirmed for some after party fun by the Ibiza Rocks pool, Sundays in San Antonio, could be getting a whole lot cooler. DNS promoter Neil Evans has already posted on social media that “announcements” are imminent so watch this space for updates and more juicy rumours.
