The Cruise Ship SeaBourn Pride

Reports that San Antonio Ibiza, has been included on the itinerary of the upmarket cruise ship Seabourn Pride, is another good news story for the growing reputation of the town. Lobbying by the towns tourism board, led by Vincent Ribas, has ensured that the Seabourn Pride will proudly sail into the once small fishing village, at 10.00 hours on May 12th 2012 and depart at 21.00, just in time for sunset. The Ship itself has an interesting History, having being Christened by Hollywood Star Shirley Temple in 1988. It was specially designed to cater to a select luxury clientèle with passenger capacity reduced to 208 to ensure that each guest was looked after individually by its 164 crew members. Not much has changed in 2012 with a ticket for the 38 day Iberian Spring and Baltic Discovery Voyage starting at £8499 a person. As San Antonio is not equipped to land cruise liner passengers at port, a boat will ferry them from its anchor at sea. It is hoped that San Antonio will build the infrastructure required so that many more Cruise Liners will utilize the port in future.
