My Blue BaseBuds

Not often that I blog about products I use, but for my recent trip to Ibiza, I invested in a pair of Base Buds earphones and a BaseBoomz speaker. I like to travel as light as possible and in recent years I have had an aversion to bringing CD’s with me, as I prefer the functionality and the all in one, compact versatility of my iPhone. Also, its not too easy to find car rentals in Ibiza with digital and MP3 inputs for smart phone devices, so I needed a compact speaker with power and a long battery life. A friend, who had been singing the praises of the Bass Buds, recommended that I try them, so I did and I must admit that for the price, I was impressed. The sound quality of the earphones was clear and sharp and the bass came through quiet well due to what Bass Buds call “Advanced Crystaltronics Sound Technology”. What I really liked was the comfortable and soft fit of the phones in my ear and the tangle free double wrapped cable. For some reason both headphones and earphones always end up tangled on me and while Base Buds were not 100% anti- tangle, they were a big improvement on standard cables. The integrated microphone with call controller, was ideal for taking calls on the iPhone while I was driving.

My BaseBoomz Speaker

The earphones come in a number of different colours and I went for the blue, which like all the designs, have embedded crystals for a fashionable and stylish look. While not a selling point for me, I can see how the stylish design would attract the eye. The presentation of the earphones is rather good but what really made it for me was the compact and powerful BaseBoomz Bluetooth speaker. For such a small and light speaker, it packed some punch and quiet easily handled the job I required it for. In my hotel room, at the beach and in my car. Its rechargeable Li-ion battery allows up to 17 hours of playtime and is compatible with all smartphones, MP3 players, Laptops and tablets. For Bluetooth devices, range is up to 10m, so ideal for lounging around the pool. It is quiet an eye catching little product for its £49.95 price tag. The earphones came in at £34.95, so for under £85, its a cool and contemporary digital sound solution that was perfect for travelling and at home. With my DJ mixing app on iPhone, I had lots of fun playing with the BaseBoomz which can also utilise a splitter wire to hook up 2 speakers. Overall I must admit, I quiet enjoyed the quality. I wanted a portable digital sound system that was both compact and able to take some knocking about and BaseBuds delivered. This product was gifted.
