Sankeys The Saviour Of Underground House in Ibiza

The emergence of Sankeys, has been a breath of fresh air, to the otherwise stale environment that House Music had found itself languishing in, on the Island of Ibiza this summer. Its unpretentious, quality, music driven party, has been the saviour of experimental underground House, on a Balearic Island that has influenced the genre so much in recent decades. Thankfully, the American Chicago House sound is back, with some legends of the genre making appearances in the Box Room, at Day Two of this years Closing Party. Todd Terry, DJ Sneak and Curtis Jones, are three well know and respected names on the American House Circuit and Sankeys has ensured a night of quality, back to basics, House Music, that will hopefully reinvigorate the genre on the Island. They will be joined by the rising star of Sankeys very own resident DJ, Lee Spence, aka Ellesse.

Day two of Sankeys Closing Party stands out as one of the Highlights of the Ibiza Closing Party season. Sankeys have cleverly ensured that their closing party, will be the last big club to close its doors for the 2012 season, on Wednesday, October 10th. Three rooms will rock Sankeys that night, with Solomun confirmed for a back to back set in the Basement. He will be joined by Heidi, whose Jackathon Party, was one of the success stories of the Sankys season. Also in attendance will be Miguel Campbell, Bones and H.o.s.h, to ensure a heavyweight party. In the Spektrum room Soul Clap, Baby Prince, No Reguar Play and Nick Monaco will feature in an interestingly entitled, The Wolf and Lamb Experience party. Another appealing and commendable factor about Sankeys, is that its non commercial and doesn’t rip off its customers with expensive ticket and drink prices. A Sankeys Closing party ticket at €30, is less than half of what is charged by some clubs on the Island. Tickets can be purchased at www.clubtickets.com, www.ibizahire.com and www.ibiza-spotlight.com/night/tickets_i.htm/?aid=186
